Window Box Enthusiasm

Here are this weeks tips and ideas for your window boxes:

There are a several flowers that are ideal for window boxes. Such as: alyssum, geraniums, marigolds and trilliums. These flowers are low growing flowers that are sun friendly. If your window boxes are stored in a shaded area you may want to plant begonias and fuchsias. In the winter consider adding miniature evergreens to your window boxes to keep the green thumb going.

-If you don’t have a PVC window box and your window box is made of wood, you can preserve the life of your box by adding a tarp lining prior to adding your planting mix.

-For good drainage drill a few holes in the bottom of the window boxes.

-During hot summer months water flower boxes daily then, follow-up every few weeks with fertilizer.
